Appalam is a tasty South Indian snack which is crispy and usually taken along with meals. Urad dall (black gram) is the main constituent of Appalam sourced from Andhra Pradesh and Tamilnadu.
Process
Urad dall is mixed with water and a small quantity of coconut oil, salt and asafoetida are added. It is sun dried properly and packed in airtight containers.
